In the current Toddle navigation system, clicking on a widget opens it within the same tab, restricting users to work in only one section at a time.

For example, to check a child's attendance while viewing their report card, the teacher must exit the report card, go to the attendance section, and then return. It would be helpful if widgets could open in new tabs to allow multitasking.
