Native PDF Scanning in Student App
M
Matthijs van Mierlo
Current workflow:
Students can currently upload photos/videos through the Toddle app, but they cannot natively scan and upload a multi-page PDF from the Responses section.
Current workaround:
Open the Google Drive app on mobile.
Use the “Scan document” option.
Save the scanned document.
Return to Toddle.
Select “Upload from Google Drive.”
Select the scanned document.
Request:
Add a native “Scan Document” option under Responses in the Toddle student app, allowing students to scan multiple pages and upload them directly as a PDF.
Why this would be valuable:
The current workflow requires students to leave Toddle and use another app before returning to upload their work.
Students are frequently asked to submit collated PDFs of work completed on paper, so this is a common student workflow.
The current workaround involves several additional steps than using a native document-scanning
A native scanning option would make the submission process much simpler and more intuitive for students.
Expected outcome:
Students should be able to select “Scan Document” under Responses, scan multiple pages, create a single PDF, and submit it directly within the Toddle app without needing to use Google Drive or another external app.
