-Current behavior: Toddle currently allows cumulative year-long grades to be calculated using the “From Assignments” option. However, there is no way to include an exam as a fixed percentage of the total yearly grade while maintaining assignment-based cumulative calculations.
Schools currently need to use workarounds such as:
Creating separate weighted grading categories (e.g., “Graded Assignments” = 90%, “Exam” = 10%)
Weighting reporting periods to simulate the desired behavior
-Desired behavior Allow schools to configure a final cumulative yearly grade that combines:
A cumulative grade calculated “From Assignments” across reporting periods (e.g., Fall + Spring)
A separately weighted exam component
Example calculation logic:
Final Year Grade = (Cumulative Assignment Grade × Weight) + (Exam Grade × Weight)
Teacher/admin-defined weighting should be supported for both cumulative coursework and exam components (e.g., 90% coursework + 10% exam).
