Description:

A school admin (Patrick Byrne) reported that teachers cannot delete messages in their class chat channels within the Messaging module, but admins can.

Current behavior:

Only admins have permission to delete messages in chat channels

Teachers cannot delete messages, even in their own class channels

The platform currently has limitations as it was "not built as a messaging platform"

User's feedback:

"Staff need to be able to delete messages in the chat channels"

"An admin cannot be monitoring all class channels – teachers need to be able to do that"

"It just doesn't make sense that teachers cannot do this"

"This limitation doesn't make sense – obviously it can handle it, as admins can delete messages"

"Toddle was built to save teachers 10 hours of work a week. I am just finding more and more examples of it adding work instead."

User's request:

Enable message deletion permission for teachers in class chat channels

Or allow school admins to toggle this permission on/off for teacher roles
