Agreed. Being able to connect a video meeting to a scheduled class would allow both school closure, hybrid, and online classes to exist. This could be attaching a solitary Google Meet/Zoom/etc to a schedule record so it's always seen (easier but less flexible), or have class-by-class indication of an online meeting (more flexible but a lot more work). This would simplify online delivery for students and faculty.
