Learning Experience Templates would allow teachers to select a pedagogical approach when creating a Learning Experience, automatically generating a lesson structure aligned to that teaching strategy. Rather than starting with a blank Learning Experience, teachers could choose templates such as Group Work, Think-Pair-Share, I Do/We Do/You Do, Inquiry Learning, Retrieval Practice or Practical Lessons. Each template would provide planning prompts for teachers, generate an appropriate student-facing layout, and include facilitation tools such as group allocation, role assignment, anonymous response sharing, timers, checkpoints, reflection prompts and evidence collection. This would help teachers design Learning Experiences that more faithfully implement effective pedagogies while giving students a clearer, more interactive learning experience. Because the selected pedagogy would be visible and reportable across courses, school leaders would gain insights into the teaching approaches being used across year levels, subjects and units, something that is currently difficult to see or analyse at scale. This could be extended to analyse the efficacy of pedagogical approaches against results, mapped to standards/learning areas/year levels etc. Schools could build their own templates or select from banks of options to support their Teaching & Learning approaches/internal priorities. Toddle would become not just a platform for delivering content, but a platform that actively supports instructional design, pedagogical consistency and continuous improvement. I think schools would love this feature - I know ours would!
