Assignments

The Problem Our school policy limits students to a maximum of two summative assessments per day to protect student wellbeing and manage workload. While teachers are encouraged to check the assessment calendar before scheduling, overlaps (three or more assessments) still occur frequently. Currently, Toddle does not indicate the order in which assessments were added to the calendar. This makes it difficult for leadership to determine which assessment was added last and should, therefore, be the one moved to a different date. Proposed Solution We request the addition of a Creation Timestamp for all summative tasks. Specifically: Backend Tracking: Automatically record the exact date and time a summative task is published/assigned to the calendar. Frontend Visibility: Display this timestamp within the Assessment Calendar view (perhaps in the hover-over details or the task sidebar). User Benefit Accountability: Provides a clear "first-come, first-served" record for scheduling. Conflict Resolution: Allows coordinators and Grade Level Leads to quickly identify the "third" assessment added and request a reschedule from the correct faculty member. Student Wellbeing: Ensures our 2-per-day limit is enforceable, directly reducing student stress and burnout.

The ability to place students in pre-made groups on various assignments and activities to collaborate on without having to create 30+ separate assignments on the Course Plan.

We would like a feature that would allow teachers to select a timed release of assessment results. Just like you can delay the sending of an email, or the day that the task is visible to students, we need to be able to schedule when the evaluation is visible to students.

Teachers want the ability to have students work on a single document across multiple stages (plan → draft → final) while maintaining full version history, even when these stages are part of separate assignments (formative and summative).

Would like to be able to enable AI evaluation in open-ended questions in Worksheets.

Right now, when you want to add an assignment, but make sure it does not coincide with the deadline of another subject, there is no way to see this for these specific students. You would have to go to the calendar, and see for that year group, what deadlines they have for that day. However, the utility of this is limited because you don't know by memory which classes your students participate in. The ideal solution would be to see within the Assign Settings, numbers highlighted in that small calendar for the days there are conflicts with other tasks. If you would like to see what the conflicts are, you click on it and it opens a a full Student Workload section in which you can see the task, the students who has to deliver it, the class and teacher.

It is common for students to need extensions to due dates. Teachers should have the option to assign due dates to individual students within their class rather than a student who has a legitimate extension having a 'late submission' recorded.

What if the "Opens on" and "Due on" time in the task assigning pop up was linked to the timetable for the specific class? Once the date was selected, the time would automatically set itself to the start time of the class on that date. Teachers could always edit, but it would be a wonderful default.

We are wanting to use worksheets over multiple period assessments with the browser lock enabled. We currently use exam.net and want to streamline our process, running similar assessments at secondary school level in Toddle Worksheets. The Browser Lock does not appear to work as intended in Toddle. At present, my students were about to leave the task, visit other tabs and after returning to the worksheet, fill in a reason, then paste the copied work into the Worksheet. Could the browser lock be improved to function as it does in exam.net ? Prevent students from visiting other tabs Prevent the ability to copy and paste from external sources.

I want to be able to fully tag and assess worksheets and questions against standards and other learning goals.
