I would like to see some extended functionality for the new 'Departments; feature. I would like to be able to assign role permissions to one, or multiple Departments. For example, allow department coordinators to have oversight of all Courses/Classes mapped in their department.

This would provide non-classroom teachers and paraprofessionals, working independently or with small groups of students, with access to important information, such as grades, attendance, and testing. This would include tutors or learning resource teachers.
